Neuro Hebrides are inviting you along to a special Open day on Saturday 3rd June, 10am - 4pm at UHI Outer Hebrides in the grounds of Lews Castle College.
Neuro Hebrides Open day will be showcasing a range of local support services for people living with or caring for someone with a neurological condition. There will be different activities, treatments and therapies to try; Have a massage, relax in a mindfulness session, meet the therapy dogs from Aroha, complementary therapy, get creative with arts and crafts, take part in gentle exercise, have a go with Cycling without age and much more.
There will be live music with the fantastic Calum Blane and Gaelic song.
Neuro Hebrides is encouraging those who have yet to come to one of their regular weekly Cuppa and Catch ups, to visit the Neuro Day and discover more about the support that is available locally. "People are welcome to drop in, try a complementary therapy or relax in the cafe and enjoy some live music and a blether. Above all, people benefit from meeting others living with a neurological condition." Neuro Hebrides are keen to make the day a celebration of being together again after years of isolating throughout the Covid pandemic. Living with a neurological condition has many challenges and the day is an opportunity for people in the Outer Hebrides to try another approach to managing their condition amongst a friendly bunch who are also facing the same difficulties. Trying different activities means individuals may be able to experience something that meets their needs. Information on various neurological conditions will be on hand as well as local health services, Citizens Advice and other local service providers.
There will be refreshments available throughout the day and lunch will be provided. Entrance to the open day and for all of the therapies, treatments and activities is free. Western Isles Wedding Nannies will be available throughout the day to look after the children, so adults are able to take part in activities and try some therapies, relaxed in the knowledge that their children are safe.
A full schedule of events for the Open Day will be available soon. In the meantime, feel free to contact Neuro Hebrides on 07385 596842 or email n.heb@outlook.com for any more information. We look forward to welcoming you all.
