Support us

Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and the support we give to our members is only possible because of the amazing volunteers and fundraisers that work tirelessly to help make Neuro Hebrides such a special charity.

Your fundraising, volunteering your time and generous support makes everything we do possible. Every bike ride, run or walk, every minute spent volunteering, and every donation you raise, you are making a real difference to many people living with a neurological condition.

Volunteering

We couldn't run Neuro Hebrides without our amazing volunteers. Their time, care and dedication is invaluable and the words thank you is an understatement for the gratitude we feel for their help.

We are looking for more volunteers to help us make Neuro Hebrides even more fantastic.

We are based in Stornoway but there are people throughout the whole of the Western Isles would would benefit from support from Neuro Hebrides.

Neuro Hebrides meet every Monday, 2pm - 3:30pm at the Failte centre in Stornoway. Cuppa and Catch up is a welcoming, positive group where you can come along and be yourself and enjoy some company with friends. We regularly run workshops, talks and other activities.

If you can volunteer some of your time on a Monday afternoon to help Neuro Hebrides at Cuppa and Catch up, we'd love to hear from you.

We know time is precious and even if you can only help once a month, your time would be really appreciated.

We are also looking for Volunteers based in Uist, who can be part of the Neuro Hebrides  Cuppa and Catch up group.

Thank you to everyone who has helped raise funds for Neuro Hebrides

There have been some amazing fundraising events for Neuro Hebrides, and we would like to thank each and every person who has made a contribution, it really does mean the world and is used to help so many people in the Outer Hebrides.

In November 2024 and March 2025, the Lewis and Harris Trail organised two amazing events in Stornoway. The proceeds were donated to two local charities; Catch 23 and Neuro Hebrides.

The first event in November was a Magic Show, and the second event was a Curry and Comedy night. Both events were sell out, in fact the magic show put on an extra night. So much fun and laughter was had, and they were a huge success.

Fantastic musicians Elsa MacTaggart and Gary Lister organise The Wee Summer Fest annually in Shawbost, a fantastic weekend of Music, Ceilidhs and so much more. In 2024, the donations raised during the festival were donated to Neuro Hebrides.

In 2023, The Butt to Barra and Back cycle ride raised over £2000 when they cycled  304 miles from the Butt of Lewis lighthouse, down to Vatersay and Barra and back up to Lewis finishing in Stornoway. You can read more about their adventure here: They did it! Thank you to the Butt to Barra and Back Team
